About Us

Cooking is something that our family has always been good at. On every holiday, regular day, or even when people are just hungry, they know that the Knebel’s house is the place to be. There are 9 people in our family: Dad (Daniel) , Mom (Kendra) , Malika~20, Kahlil~19 (me), Big Mac~18, Kamillah~15, Mahalah~11, Makai~9, and Kaisha~7. With such a full house, us older ones learned how to cook for an army, and multi-task, fast. If we didn’t have company, there was the foster home that mom ran. So there were always extra people.

We lived down in the Roseburg area of Oregon as long as I can remember. Dad was born down there, and mom’s family moved there when she was eight. All of us kids were born at the same hospital, and we all had the same doctor. (Mom thought she should get a discount for seven kids by one doctor…the doctor disagreed) :)

In the summer of 2006 we moved to Lebanon, Oregon. We have truly been blessed with our home. During the summer it is a paradise. There is such contentment here that we often have a lot of extra company that come up and stay for days, and sometimes weeks. People think that it would get crowded, but mom’s motto is, “after nine…what’s a few more?”

Now that all of us kids are older, dad decided that we would try our hand at a family business. (This has always been his dream) We all laughed at first. We said, “Dad, how are we going to pull off a catering business and a Ranch?” Like most 63 acre ranches, ours has cattle, horses, chickens, and goats. You can see why we were thinking that dad had a little too much sun. J So we prayed about it. Then we prayed some more. After that… we prayed a little bit more. We came to the conclusion that it was a perfect idea. Dad sold off a few of the horses and goats, and resolved not to buy any spring chickens. However, the cattle have only expanded this year as all the cows are calving. We still intend to put up some hay this summer with any spare time that we have away from catering.

We have catered a few events this year already and they have all gone really well. Even though we just got started, in this area, it has already been a great growing opportunity for our family. Everyone is having a lot of fun and we have managed to find a task for everyone even down to Kaisha.
